Data collected from you. Remain Software collects personal data directly from you, for instance when you inquire about one of Remain’s Services and Solutions, or from your interactions with our website, products or services.  We collect this information to better understand how visitors use the website, to improve our websites and experience for visitors, and to monitor the security of the website. From time to time, Remain Software may publicly release non-personally-identifying information collected from website visitors in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of the website. Remain Software also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses from visitors. Remain Software does not use such information to identify or track individual visitors, however. If your company uses the Services and Solutions and we provide you an account, we may collect your name, email address, and associated IP address as part of your company’s use of the Services and Solutions.

Account creation. When you create an account with us via our website, we may collect your contact details and a password. 

Billing data. When you purchase Services and/or Solutions or register to attend an event, we may collect your contact information.

Device and usage data. When you use our website or our Services and Solutions, we may also automatically collect data about your device and about your usage of and activity on our website and Services. For example, we collect your device’s operating system type, IP address, company name, device identifiers, browser type, device type, domain name, access times, and the duration of visit, and other information. 

Chat data.  When you start a live chat, Remain will collect a log and chat about your interaction with Remain Software chat agents.

Partners. Remain Software may engage in joint marketing activities or event sponsorships with our third-party partners and we may collect personal data about you from these activities.  We also allow partners to provide referrals to Remain Software of individuals who may be interested in learning more about our Services and Solutions. We rely on our partners to obtain your permission before sharing your personal data with us.

Service Providers. Remain Software may also engage with third party service providers who help us understand how our customers are using Remains' Services and Solutions.

Remain Software does not intentionally collect sensitive personal information, such as social security numbers, genetic data, health information, or religious information. Although Remain Software does not request or intentionally collect any sensitive personal information, we realize that users might store this kind of information. If you store any sensitive personal information, you are consenting to our storage of that information, which are located in the Netherlands and in the United States.

If you're a child under the age of 13, you may not have an account on the website. Remain Software does not knowingly collect information from or direct any of our website or content specifically to children under 13. If we learn or have reason to suspect that a user is under the age of 13, we will close the child’s account.

Remain Software uses your data to provide you with and improve upon the Services and Solutions that you or your company requests, to communicate with you, and to advertise to you through third-party publishers. 

Providing and Improving Remain’s Services. Remain Software uses the data you provide, or data that we collect when you use our Services and Solutions, to operate our Services and Solutions, provide you with the Service and Solutions that you or your company has requested, and to continually improve our Service and Solutions offerings, internal systems, website, and processes. Communicating with you. Remain Software’s website allows you to download white papers, customer testimonials, product data- sheets fill out forms for more details about our Services and Solutions, and to engage with us via our chat functionality. You can also register to attend online webinars, events, demos. We use this information to provide you with the material you requested, to follow up with you about your interest in the Services and Solutions, or to register you for the event you request. We may also use personal data to understand you and your preferences so that we may enhance your experience and send you information about Remain Software, our affiliates, and our partners, such as information about promotions or events.

Legal bases for processing (EEA users). We collect and process information about users based in the European Economic Area where we have a basis to do so under applicable law. Remain Software relies on one of the following four legal bases for processing your data:

Remain Software only discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to those of its employees, contractors, and affiliated organizations that need to know that information in order to process it on Remain Software's behalf or to provide services available on the website, and that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Remain Software Partners. Remain Software’s partner network provides a broad range of integrations that enable our Services and Solutions to interconnect with third-party software.  We may share your data with these partners to support our mutual customers. We may also share your data with our partners who co-sponsor events that you choose to attend. 

Billing. Remain Software uses an internal service provider to manage invoicing processing. 

Compelled Disclosure. Remain Software reserves the right to share your data if required by law or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or valid legal process.  We may also disclose your data to protect the rights and property of Remain Software, our agents, employees, partners, and customers, including to prevent or stop an attack on our systems or network or to prevent spam or attempts to defraud our users. Finally, we may also need to disclose your data in connection with or during the negotiation of any merger, financing, acquisition, bankruptcy, dissolution, transaction or proceeding involving the sale, transfer, divestiture or disclosure of all or a portion of our business or assets to another company.

Remain Software takes measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration, or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.

Communication Preferences. If you have received promotional communications from Remain Software via email and would like to opt-out of future communications, you can click on the “unsubscribe” link located on the bottom of the emails messages or you can go here. To opt out of other forms of communication, you may unsubscribe by contacting us using the information in the “Contacting Us" section below.

Managing personal data. Remain Software provides different accounts with varying functionality depending on the Services and Solutions users access. Remain Software accounts generally permit you to update your user settings or profile by logging into the applicable website or Extranet with your username and password. If you do not have an account but wish to make a request to manage your data, you can contact Remain Software using the information in the “Contact Us” section. 

Requests to manage your data will be addressed within a reasonable timeframe. If you are an employee of a Remain Software customer, you may also wish to contact your company’s system administrator for assistance in managing your data.

Remain Software may process and store your data in your region or we may transfer it to the United States or to other countries in which we have affiliates, subsidiaries, or service providers. We may transfer data from the European Economic Area and Switzerland to other countries and, when we do, we use legal mechanisms like contracts to make sure there is an adequate transfer mechanism in place.  

Changes to this Privacy Policy. Remain Software reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy. We will give you notice, prior to the change taking effect when we launch material updates. 

 Cookies and Other Technologies. We use cookies (a small text file sent from a website and stored on your device) to help our website recognize your browser and remember things about your device so your interactions with our websites are easy and meaningful.  We may also use or allow a limited number of third parties to use other technologies like web beacons on our website, so we can better understand the effectiveness of our promotions and advertisements on those third party websites.  We may also use web beacons in our email marketing communications to understand campaign effectiveness and determine whether our emails have been opened or acted upon.
